'Twilight' loyals painted their faces to attend the UK fan party of the saga's new movie. PHOTO:CNN

Some of them were holding books while others were waving letters they had written the night before. Some had travelled more than a thousand miles while others had skipped school. Some came dressed up while others had scribbled "Bite Me" on their faces. Some were new to this while others had seen it all before.

Most of them were freezing. But all of them were screaming.

For the loyal clan of "Twilight" fans that crammed into a west London park Wednesday hoping to catch a glimpse of their favorite stars - maybe a picture too, or even a hug - the UK capital’s abysmal November weather was no impediment. This was the time to show their loyalty and their dedication: this was the time to show what true fans are made of.

Are you baying for "New Moon" or are you yet to be bitten? Are you an older "New Moon" fan? Tell us below in the comments.

On any other day as cold as November 11 2009, 15-year-old Annabelle would have worn her Uggs to ward off the chill. Today that was not an option, even though she couldn’t feel her feet. Her idol Edward Cullen, aka Robert Pattinson, publicly revealed his dislike of the sheepskin boots, instantly making them a forbidden item at New Moon’s UK fan party at Battersea Evolution.

Even the freezing weather could not dampen the mood: Each time the "New Moon" trailer appeared on the massive screens above the fans, a wave of synchronized, deafening screams - that would put most football fans to shame - would erupt as throngs of young girls shouted like there was no tomorrow.

Stephenie Meyers’ brooding and romantic vampire stories seem designed to appeal mostly to a generation of young women reared on the Harry Potter stories, who are now ready to follow more adventurous paths.

However, it was not just 14 to 22-year-olds who were there. Besides the rare representatives of the male species, there were one or two more mature women allowing themselves to get carried away amid the teenage perkiness - even though most of them were just there to accompany their young daughters.

Some of them are also hardcore fans, representing the ever-growing group mature followers known as "Twilight Mums." Thirty-nine-year-old Heidi boasted that she and her young daughter had already booked tickets for the long-awaited opening of  "New Moon" on November 20.

The event also presented the perfect opportunity for some fans to meet in person for the first time after hours of nattering in online groups dedicated to their favorite series. Some, like Patricia, 24, had even travelled from places as far away as Spain, reflecting the series’ border-crossing appeal.

At last, the moment that everyone was waiting for had arrived. The actors put their feet on the red carpet a few minutes before 7pm, making the ever-energetic crowd forget all the hardship they had suffered during the many hours of waiting. The most loyal fans had rushed into Battersea park some 12 hours before just to ensure a good spot.

To give credit to the film’s cast, and especially to Robert Pattinson, the assembled fans got to spend quite a lot of time with the "New Moon" actors, getting back some of the affection they were so generously giving away.  The cheering and screaming moved like synchronised ripples above the crowd in perfect co-ordination with the slow manoeuvres of Kristen Stewart, Taylor Lautner and, of course, Robert Pattinson.

And then the cast, along with their celebrity friends and some lucky fans, moved indoors to carry on with the party. For those unlucky ones who hadn’t managed to win a ticket inside it was time to disperse slowly, tired yet contented.

After all the screaming, crying and declarations of love, it was time for some rest - or homework.

God is there anything more irritating than the screech of a group of twilight girls

Spike   November 12th, 2009 1709 GMT

While the Twilight stories are fairly good, in my mind they will never be a replacement for Buffy and Angel.

renesmee   November 12th, 2009 1717 GMT

I love Kristen . She's gorgeous . Crazy about her

deb   November 12th, 2009 1723 GMT

Hey, if it gets people reading, and families connecting then have at it. Personally, I enjoyed the books and movie, and have purchased tix for myself and my teenage niece for the midnight show. We are Team Edward. :)

Jeana   November 12th, 2009 1729 GMT

Fans have been going crazy for actors and musicians since 'forever', so why is anyone upset about the young girls (mostly, anyway) being excited? Where's the harm, folks? And yes, "JON", there is something more irritating that a group of "Twilight Girls": Hateful and bitter people who never have anything positive to say, only hateful and complaning comments...comments that the rest of us would rather you kept to yourself. If a person can't ever think of something positive to say, they need to ask what is wrong with themselves, and not those around them.
That aside, this series is not just for teens and tweens; there are many of us adult women from 30 years of age and up who are fans of the books and movies. If a story is good, it's good. A good love story is a good love story. A good thriller is a good thriller. Etc. Etc. I personally am not ever going to stand in freezing weather for hours on end for anyone–I never have been one to do that–but I've still enjoyed the books and the first movie-Twilight. I can't wait to see the next installment, "New Moon", when it opens next week.
Stay positive or stay quiet.

Ollie   November 12th, 2009 1730 GMT

The only thing worth screaming over is Kristen Stewart, now she is awlsome!

Edie   November 12th, 2009 1810 GMT

I wouldn't go so far as to paint "Bite Me" on my forehead and stand for hours in the cold. But, I'm 51 years young and fell in love with the books and then the movie. I can't wait to see what they did with New Moon.

csl   November 12th, 2009 1811 GMT

my husband thinks i'm pathetic. and he's right – as a professional in my late forties i should be above the fray. mmmm . . . but i just can't get enough. will be at the theater at 12:01 with all the screeching girls. i'll try not to drown them out.

adrienne   November 12th, 2009 1814 GMT

god is there anything more annoying that irritating than people who judge and feel uncalled for hatred against others for their book and movie choices.

bunny willliams   November 12th, 2009 1816 GMT

i'm a twilight mom! i love them more than my girls do!

Jaime   November 12th, 2009 1816 GMT

About half (or more!) of the women on staff at my school are older Twilight fans- that is to say, over the age of 21! We're all connecting and reading and anxiously awaiting together. Our boats are definitely floating and yes, we WORK too. ;o)

lindsayrae   November 12th, 2009 1819 GMT

As a 27 year old fan of the book series, I am excited for New Moon to come out, even though it was my least favorite book of the four. I avoided reading this series for as long as possible, trying to "grow up" and read "grown up" books. For the life of me, I can't figure out what finally drew me in, but I'm glad I indulged the 17 year old in me.

From the trailers, it looks like Chris Weitz is going to show us exactly what the readers want to see: Intensity. Every emotion that occurs in this installment is extreme, as we truly felt they were when we were that age. I am anxious to see where Chris and Stephanie lead these characters on the screen. I'm also very excited to see the Quileutes take center stage. It's Taylor's turn. Robert might even be able to take the earplugs out for a moment or two.

Sarah Welles   November 12th, 2009 1820 GMT

Yes, the books, the movie(s) and especially the actors are far more irritating.

Souc   November 12th, 2009 1823 GMT

I'm a fan of Twilight, have read all the books, and can't wait to see the movie. In fact – I've aready purchased my tickets for the premiere, BUT I see absolutely NO REASON to make a fool of yourself and scream and yell at the guy who ACTED in the show (yes, girls, he's not really a vampire, and he won't really try to drink your blood no matter how much you ask)

The whole screaming fan with crap written on their faces, and sobbing because they see an actor, is just borderline obsessive and some parents clearly need to reign in their kids and teach them the difference between fiction and realty. This is entertainment, and these are just people, not immortal Gods, and folks need to remember that.

Philly Girl   November 12th, 2009 1829 GMT

*grin* I'm a Twi-Mom, and proud. These stories are terribly cliched, but I love sharing them w/my 14-year-old.

R.J   November 12th, 2009 1830 GMT

I didnt see the first one yet but I do like vampire movies the hammer film are some of my fav,I hope these movie are not all prissy, and show the true satanic nature of the children of the night, and not a cutsie type vampire, but a violent satanic creature driven by blood lust!these pop movies dont do right the evil blood sucking undead that have haunted the night for centuries. If they really saw some one getting there juggular torn out would they still say bite me my guess is no,

Michelle   November 12th, 2009 1839 GMT

My friends and I fall in the 35-45 year old range. We were there for the midnight showing of Twilight, and we'll be there for the midnight showing of New Moon, as well! We have all read the books (some of us more than once), and look forward to seeing how they will translate to the big screen.

shelly   November 12th, 2009 1845 GMT

I've been a fan of Twilight for some time now...I found out about it from twilightstyle.com and have been hooked ever since. I've even made a calendar of screen backgrounds on my computer to enjoy it even more and every day!

tony   November 12th, 2009 1908 GMT

Hum...agreed. The screeching and general craziness of tween girls for actors and musicians is highly irritating.....and by the way....Robert Pattinson is really gross.

Terri Mason   November 12th, 2009 1908 GMT

Wonderful books, great first movie. Total fan of these young people. The author appeals to all ages. love her..............................

DP   November 12th, 2009 1913 GMT

twilight is so terrible

Tania   November 12th, 2009 1916 GMT

Sorry, but vampires who walk in daylight and glisten or glow, or whatever it is they do, and are vegetarians, are no vampires in my book. The vampires on True Blood on the other hand...

Renee   November 12th, 2009 1921 GMT

I have read the books. I read them before my daughter did. They are not literary genius by any means, but they were written by a woman who had a fascinating dream and brought the dream to life. That is always a good thing. In a world were sexual promiscuity is becoming the norm, I am proud that my daughter has fallen in love something this not about sex. Oh don’t get me wrong sexual tension is there, but the act is saved for marriage and that is an important lesson lost in society today. So I say if women (of all ages) want to enjoy the books and the movies – more power to them. It could always be worse.

Maria NYC   November 12th, 2009 1926 GMT

I'm no teenage girl nor a mom.

I'm a 40-something communications professional, blogger and writer, and I'm proud to say 3 weeks ago I booked my tickets for the opening of New Moon.

As many of you know me via Twitter, I am an independent, open-minded thinker (and opinionated New Yorker) LOL! . So, don't classify us Twilight/Stephanie Meyers fans as screaming teenage girls, or as someone else put it, "lonely housewives"... NOT SOOO....

Many of us are far from those stereotypes. I know I don't fall in either of those. One of my neighbors is a retired literature teacher. Another fan is a beautiful 40something techie professional and former "hot bartender" in the NYC club scene.

I may not be a screaming fanatic but I don't fear standing up in my Tahari pant suit and heels, holding my Coach bag and proudly saying, "I'm a Twilight fan and I am excited to have my tickets for opening night. :-) YESSSS!!"

Yes, I was also an LOTR fan as well as Harry Potter's.

Kate   November 12th, 2009 1934 GMT

While I'm not a huge fan of screaming teenage girls, I totally understand their excitement. At 25-years-old, I, along with many other older fans, am also counting down the minutes to the midnight premiere. Great story- thanks for recognizing us!

Dave   November 12th, 2009 1934 GMT

I still cannot believe the hype for this mediocre crap!
I watched the first one on DVD and it looked like a generic SciFi Channel made-for-tv-movie.

Belinda   November 12th, 2009 1943 GMT

jon you are just jealous they aren't screeching for you.

sarah   November 12th, 2009 1945 GMT

I'm 38 and I love Twilight, as do many of my friends - whose ages span from 20s to 60s. We're all anxious for New Moon to come out! I think it's just great to see people of all ages get so excited over a book.

Lorie   November 12th, 2009 1949 GMT

I am a Twilight Mom as well and have had my New Moon tickets purchased since September! We have a group of 20 going to see the midnight showing in downtown Kansas City and we have all been counting down the days. Most of us ladies are in our 30's and that's ok. The Twilight saga, yes, is about young teenage love, but that doesn't mean that "older" women don't or can't appreciate the stories. Remember, Stephenie Meyer herself is in her 30's and wrote it only a few short years ago. It's an obssession for myself but a healthy one.

Lu   November 12th, 2009 1952 GMT

More irritating than screeching girls? How about irritating rabid football fans or any sport fans. Come on things like this for them rarely come there way. It's innocent fun.

Mel   November 12th, 2009 1955 GMT

I am 27 years old and very excited about New Moon. I am going with a group of friends to see it, and we have already reserved our tickets online.

Kelly   November 12th, 2009 2001 GMT

I am the mother of a 14 year old and she is very excited about the fact that we will be at a midnight show the night it opens. I read the books after her and love the story as well. My daughter has also gotten her aunt, my sister hooked on the series and so it will be a trio at midnight on the 20th. Many of the women I work with, in a whole range of ages, some with adult children and some with tweenies are all huge fans of the series. The thing about the series is that Stephanie has captured perfectly what first love is and all of us have had that. Even those of us jaded by divorce and soured on men, still love love I think and that explains it for myself.

Janet   November 12th, 2009 2001 GMT

Wow, I was one of those people waiting hours at the San Diego Comic-Con just to get to see them. I waited and waited and I got to the front of the line and I was told there was no room. But eventually I found about a special screening of the movie Twilight and again I waited in line for a another few hours. It was all worth it because I got to see some of the cast but not Robert, Kristen, or Taylor. :(

Architect Mason   November 12th, 2009 2005 GMT

The "Real Twilight Story" http://www.IANEYE.com

Jackie   November 12th, 2009 2028 GMT

I honestly loved the 2nd book! It is my favorite of the series. It's the only book that has left me feeling the same vulnerable feeling I felt when I lost my first love. I am excited to see the film adapted to the screen and what changes that the filming will bring to the already loved book.

Chris   November 12th, 2009 2035 GMT

omg, omg, omg – he's sooooooo cute! I dont even care that the story is regurgitated nonsense. I dont care that it's unoriginal sophomoric garbage. yada yada yada gimme gimme gimme

Get a grip, you stupid tarts. I think it's called Twilight because the sun is setting on anything original or interesting in Hollywood or teen literature. I'm willing to bet most of them dont even know who Bram Stoker is. You're broadcasting your stupidity by embracing this crap.

debra   November 12th, 2009 2048 GMT

I think it's great. Twilight is morally clean. Good stuff for young girls.

Mish   November 12th, 2009 2053 GMT

I confess, I am an older (early 40's) Twilight fan and I do not have any children. I happened to see Twilight a few months ago and missed some scenes because I fell asleep. So, I checked out the book to read what I had missed and got BITTEN and totally SUCKED in. I read through all of the books in record pace. The reason all of us females get sucked in is because Edward is nearly perfect and cherishes the ground Bella walks on, so why can't men in real life be like that? I keep trying to explain it to my husband but he does not get it and he won't without reading the books. My husband says, it's fantasy, get over it. If men were smart, they'd read the books and learn from Edward.

JCo   November 12th, 2009 2102 GMT

A good friend of mine (44 years old) has pre-paid for tickets to the New Moon premier here in the U.S. – twice in one day, in fact. She said she probably won't be able to hear much the first time, because of all the screaming and swooning, so she's going a second time on the same day.

I'm a fan too, but when she asked me if I was going to the premier, I told her she was NUTS, lolol.

Becca   November 12th, 2009 2104 GMT

#1. I am not a teenager. I am in my mid 30s. #2. I consider actors people just doing thier job. Sometimes they are good at it and sometimes they are not. His name is Robert. Not Edward for all you teens out there. #3. I am a Twilight Fan. I was skeptic at first till a co-worker lent me the books. I have read all 4 within a month. For those who just roll their eyes because the popularity of Twilight among teens, it is very much worth the read. The author has such a way with words and tying them with emotions that you feel the characters. And it isn't just your Vampire/Love Story. There is a lot to it. So pick it up and give it a try. You never know, you might like it.

ps...I am so old, I was into vamps before they were popular :-)

I suppose twilight itself is more irritating than it's fans

"God is there anything more irritating than the screech of a group of twilight girls"
Yes! The squees QAF fan-women...which I freely admit to being. But I digress...
...I enjoyed the books and the first movie. Looking forward to seeing "Moon."

Marie   November 12th, 2009 2113 GMT

Actually, John, there is something more annoying. It's judgmental comments such as yours posted on stories you shouldn't be reading if you aren't interested in the subject.

Woofie   November 12th, 2009 2113 GMT

I agree...there is something very wrong with these girls! I wonder if they realize they are really lusting after 300 year old men???

nan   November 12th, 2009 2118 GMT

Oh come on... Read the books. They are very good. I'm not of the age where screaming at a handsome young actor is very appropriate any more, but I can see the fun in getting carried away for a few hours. As long as no harm came of it then. What the heck. Enjoy the moment.

Kathy D!   November 12th, 2009 2123 GMT

If I had the opportunity to go to something like this (in my hometown, of course) I would jump at the chance. I would not fly to be at something like this, however. I'm 23 and totally in love with the Twilight series..

Being one of the few males who is into the series, I would be screaming too. Enjoy the moment!

masshole   November 12th, 2009 2144 GMT

what cracks me up is that i saw the first movie and it was just "meh"

but whatever makes these girls happy is cool by me.

Mrs. Wyatt   November 12th, 2009 2144 GMT

I decided last year to find out what my student's were reading and have enjoyed the Twilight saga. We will be taking a field trip to see New Moon on opening day, with the option of dressing in character to avoid dress code for a few hours. I have had a long relationship with Harry Potter, but there is definitely room in my life for Edward. By the way, I am 54 and my students are teens.

christy   November 12th, 2009 2146 GMT

Age has nothing to do with whether or not you like these stories. I'm 50 and they are great, fun, fiction! What's not to love!

Beth   November 12th, 2009 2148 GMT

I initially heard about Twilight from my teenage daughter who owned all the books in the series. One evening I decided to read the first book and the rest is history...I couldn't lay it down and read all four of them in record time! They are very well written and keep you engaged at all times. I have seen the first movie and am looking forward to New Moon this month. Oh by the way I am a young 57!!!

I truly fell in love with the TWILIGHT series. I am mid-50's, and just as shocked as you are!! I am an avid reader , and cannot recall ever having such a draw to a series of books. The TWILIGHT movie was so well cast, I am really looking forward to NEW MOON. It's been a joy to "fall" into the entire TWILIGHT phenom!!

Kel   November 12th, 2009 2301 GMT

I'm a 20 year old girl. No thanks. I don't buy into that series. It seems very superficial and boils down to a helpless dame in distress deciding between two suitors. Lame. I hate UGs anyway. More like UGly. It puts me to shame of my gender that they are reduced to a squabbling, screeching, screaming mass of people who are excited over something mundane and insignificant as twilight. I will never read the books nor watch the movies.

nikki Harris   November 12th, 2009 2303 GMT

the books co-rule the kingdom of popular fantasy books for this decade with harry potter. but the movies suck more than a voldemort flavored ice cream cone.

Bob   November 12th, 2009 2306 GMT

What Jon said.

sarah   November 12th, 2009 2311 GMT

I THINK TWILIGHT IS PROBABLY THE COOLEST AND AWESOMEST MOVIE AND BOOOK EVER! MY BIRTHDAY PARTY IS EVEN BASED ON NEW MOON! YEHHHHH!!

Bill   November 12th, 2009 2312 GMT

Jon ... how about someone who reads an article just to whine about it? I think that's more irritating!

WOW INTERESTING

april   November 12th, 2009 2316 GMT

In response to jon...the only thing worse is.... a Twilight mom who only has sons. My two boys, one of them 17 and SO over Twilight. I am just as enthused as these young fans. And if I were 20+ years younger, I definitely would have been one of them. Team Edward all the way, and one of my favorite quotes"Movies. Ruining books since 1920." Hope all these young fans picked up the books first. Your imagination as you read can't hold a candle to the movie! Read more, text less.

i just wish i could understand all this twilight hype... i watched the movie, unfortunately...... those are not real vampires.. sparkly weird stuff and no gore... wtf is that? those aren't vampires.. they're pussies.. lol.. everyone told me how i'd love the movie and the acting was great.. well, not great acting.. and i thought i'd wasted too much of my life watching it. i won't even read the books because of how far people are taking this.. give me a break.. at least a palahniuk book makes for a good mind-fawk of a movie...

Jesse   November 13th, 2009 108 GMT

Poorly made movies based off of poorly written books. Don't let the book and ticket sales fool you–when the target audience is around the age of thirteen you really can't expect quality in most cases.

I read the first book and watched the first movie, both at the insistence of my girlfriend. To this day I still lament the fact that I will never get that wasted time back.

omg twilight got me hooked the minuted i started reading the prolog of the first book. i understand completely were all these "screaming" girls are coming from. they have the chance to show there spirit for something they love don't put them down for it. Heck i's be out there right now if i was able to.. lol

sydnee   November 13th, 2009 157 GMT

Sorry to say twilight fns but Robert Pattison Has a face that looks like a car crash. Hes ugly and incompetent and just a bad actor. The only reason Im going to see New moon is for Taylor WHO IS ACTUALLY ATTRACTIVE! I am an original Twilight Fan. The books are so much better seeing as they killed it with the crappy casting besides Alice, Emment, Jasper, Esme, Jacob, and Carlisle. OH and I guess that charlie is nice too but its kind of a fail on everyone else. AND YES THAT MEANS I AM NOT A FAN OF BOTH OF THE MAIN ACTORS. They could have done so much better than two actors who can't even speak one word with out pausing for a milisecond..for christ sake if you can't act don't.

rachelr   November 13th, 2009 209 GMT

No, Jon, there is nothing more irritating unless it's Harry Connick Jr.'s music!

James   November 13th, 2009 213 GMT

Oh my gosh my wife Jolie loves Twilight moon stuff. But there is a difference between a fan and a fanatic. My wife is a fan.

Marie   November 13th, 2009 215 GMT

51 yrs young and LOVE Twilight Series! Not screaming to see the actors though! Will see them on the screen. Life is tought...a little fantasy never hurt anyone!
Go Twi's!

Ellen   November 13th, 2009 230 GMT

I am a fan of the Twilight books, however instead of being the one behind the rope screaming their head off...I want to be the one on the red carpet being screamed at.

Nicole   November 13th, 2009 247 GMT

I'm a 31 year old Twilighter, and probably a bigger fan than my 12 & 9 year old girls are (tho they'd disagree with me). I love the series, it appeals to all ages. Aside from the wonderful story that Stephanie Meyer has told, this series is incredible because what other book (or series of books) have brought together young and old alike? My daughters and I have central focus that we can all enjoy, laugh over, cry over & drool over. My husband is 100% aware of our obsession, laughs over it, and I don't even feel like a "cougar" because hey, let's face it, Edward's actually older than me! ;)

vickie   November 13th, 2009 253 GMT

i am 31 years old and I can relate to Bella because well I know how it feels to give up so much of your life because the person in your life is different.

Susan   November 13th, 2009 309 GMT

ah to be young and carefree again....

Lisa   November 13th, 2009 312 GMT

Do NOT compare the Twilight series with Harry Potter; Harry Potter is action and mystery, good vs evil, interesting characters. Twilight is a bad soap opera with a sappy love triangle. I watched the movie with my daughter and thought it was awful. She insisted the book was better so I read it – it was better (not that that would be hard, it was a truly boring movie) but still not GOOD.... And I really don't get the whole vampire fascination,

foowee   November 13th, 2009 330 GMT

I LOVE TWILIGHT! <3 EDWARD vs. JACOB

lizzy   November 13th, 2009 330 GMT

No, there is nothing more irritating than the screech of twilight girls. I will never understand the appeal of a brooding emo vampire stalker that sparkles. There is nothing romantic about it at all. It is downright creepy.

Wylde   November 13th, 2009 338 GMT

Why yes jon......trolls like you who just jump around making snarky comments on topics they really know and care nothing about.... poor thing.... LOL

lpekmom   November 13th, 2009 340 GMT

I'm a 37-yr. old mom and I have a 12-yr. old daughter. We are both big fans!! It's nice to have something in common that we both enjoy. Great way to connect!! CAN'T WAIT to see the movie!!!!

William Hurst   November 13th, 2009 419 GMT

The screech of a group of Twilight girls and one creepy guy.

Maxilyn   November 13th, 2009 444 GMT

Why, yes, Jon, I find people who take the Lord's name in vain most irritating. And btw I'm a 65-year-old "Twilight Grandmum" who's read the series twice (ditto The Host), owns the Twilight DVD, and is eagerly awaiting the New Moon theatrical release.

Does anyone agree that Orlando Bloom would make a perfect vampire? Perhaps as Garrett in New Moon?

Maxilyn   November 13th, 2009 447 GMT

I meant Breaking Dawn, of course.

Sarag   November 13th, 2009 502 GMT

Ok, I love the books. The movies are not so good (because of Kristen Stewart), and I get very irritated how these girls swoon over the characters, but have NEVER picked up the book. How can you appreciate the story if you have never even read the books. And I'm sorry, but Kristen Stewart has ruined Bella Swan, who was already beginning to annoy me in the books. *sigh*, I just think it is sad that nobody reads anymore. But these little girls still proclaim to be huge fans, while making the real fans look stupid.

Joe   November 13th, 2009 626 GMT

Jon – There is, in fact. Dating one.

AC   November 13th, 2009 654 GMT

I know something more irritating Jon, Twilight fanboys who er like Edward... Anyway I'm a fan of the first three books, the fourth book i burned. Then burned the ashes again... all that build up for nothing. It's like a petty kids' quarell where everyone just stares at each other. I may be a fan, but the movie never attracted me that much.

kerry   November 13th, 2009 743 GMT

This article was written by someone in the 10th grade, admit it.

BDW   November 13th, 2009 811 GMT

Wow.. I hate pathetic Twilight fans.. it's NOT that good people.. open your eyes and yes i'm well aware that's my own opinion.

opalunderground   November 13th, 2009 901 GMT

No jon, there is not. There. Is. Not.

ashley   November 13th, 2009 925 GMT

OMG!!!!!! I love the Twilight books! They were A-M-A-Z-I-N-G!!!!! I thought the movie so far could have been better.

Dave   November 13th, 2009 1104 GMT

LOL! They wrote on their faces with a sharpie!

koie   November 13th, 2009 1216 GMT

Re: jon – people who take the time and effort to complain about it.

JHP   November 13th, 2009 1243 GMT

I'm in my mid 30s and although I'm not a rabid, screaming fan.... I adore the books immensely. Read all 4 of them within a week which was a record for me. Super excited about seeing how the rest of the saga are adapted to film. New Moon appears to step up to the plate a little more so than Twilight... we'll see on the 20th!

Mia   November 13th, 2009 1245 GMT

I'm an older fan of the Twilight franchise (mid 30s), but I'm not a screaming idiot either. I enjoyed the books very much and am looking forward to seeing New Moon.

Liz   November 13th, 2009 1247 GMT

I am 27, have a good career, a loving husband and I adore Twilight. Other people my age are scrape booking and I am spending my time surfing the website for more Twilight news. Just as a man my age would be searching for sport scores I search for more video clips.

jaydersimone   November 13th, 2009 1254 GMT

Well, my mom has already reserved our tickets for the midnight show! She also bought her Edward shirt and I bought my Jacob (i love Jacob Black!) tshirt months ago. Can't wait!

P Peevey   November 13th, 2009 1317 GMT

I'm a 56 yr old Twilight fan, the only book I've read six times. Have
enllisted my daughter, grandaughter and neighbor and friends into
the series. For us it's the commentment of the relationship, of course who could resist a nibble or wolfy whistle.Looking forward for the movie, got our tickets.

Mai-LIng Lai   November 13th, 2009 1325 GMT

I just turned 31 and am a HUGE Twilight Saga fan. The way Stephenie Meyers writes is amazing. Her characters make you want to learn more about them and the story is something we can all relate to, love. I read the whole saga in a month and I'm re-reading the books now. I can't wait for all of the movies to come out!

Gia   November 13th, 2009 1328 GMT

Hmmmm....sounds like male jealousy to me.

twilightispoo   November 13th, 2009 1348 GMT

Twilight is horribly written and the movie is worse. Glittery vampires? Give me a break...

stephanie   November 13th, 2009 1402 GMT

I have been a twilight fan since the first book ever came out. However I do not see the point in all these little girls screaming their hearts out. It is one of the most ridiculous things that I have ever seen. Dont you people have a life?

Casey   November 13th, 2009 1412 GMT

I love twilight! not as much as some teens though.I won't go out in the freezing cold waiting to get a glimpse of one of the actors, but I will be there for New Moon's opening weekend!

Pam   November 13th, 2009 1422 GMT

Too funny the negative comments are from guys! All I can say is that those books got my 12 yr old to read, read, read. It's all fun.

Toots   November 13th, 2009 1437 GMT

I'm well over the "tween" age.. in my 30's actually. I'm a professional woman and I LOVE these books. I've read each of them twice (so far). For me, it's not about the actors playing the characters.. it's about the characters themselves. "Edward" encompasses everything a woman wants in a man - minus the undead part. If you are a true romantic, read the books. You won't be disappointed.

Deborah in Blue Springs, MO   November 13th, 2009 1439 GMT

I am a 36-year-old mother of a 15-year-old daughter. Although my daughter introduced me to the Twilight series, I enjoy the Twilight world as much (ahem- if not MORE than) she does.

I find myself thrilled that I may guiltlessly moon over Edward Cullen without fear of people thinking I'm sick (because he's well over 18 years old). I, too, want to be bitten by him... or Jasper... or Carlisle... or Emmett...

I'm a fan of True Blood (HBO) too. Make me a vampire! I'm ready!

By the way, while my daughter has to wait until Nov. 22 to see "New Moon", Mommy will be first in line on opening night! Hooray!

Holly   November 13th, 2009 1443 GMT

Okay...I have no tween at home for an excuse. I'm a 46 year old woman who is insanely fond of these books...and the movies in turn. I've had New Moon tickets for 2 months now. As soon as I found out that advance tickets were available, I jumped on the opportunity. The only thing I dread is the screaming of the young ones drowning out the movie dialog. Hopefully I won't be caught up in that insanity and find myself screaming along. How embarrassing!

I'll be going to the movie with three others...all over the age of thirty – including one man. Is there a logical reason that this story is so wildly popular? If there is, I can't identify it. All I know is that once you've read the first book...you're HOOKED!

FanMom   November 13th, 2009 1505 GMT

I'm 30 and I really enjoyed reading the Twilight series. I'd call myself a "fan" but I hate to be stuck in the same boat as tweens who write "bite me" on their face. So, I'm looking forward to watching New Moon in the theater, but I'm REALLY hoping no fangirls scream in my ear throughout the showing.

LJ   November 13th, 2009 1507 GMT

I'm an older Twlight fan! I started reading the books when the first one came out because all the girls at the school where I teach were reading it. I became an instant fan of the books and can't wait for the 2nd movie!

Kristen   November 13th, 2009 1518 GMT

I hope that all the abusive drug dealing boys in the world show up too. They have a ready made group of girls to pick from. The Twilight novels have shown girls this fantasy world were the scary loner with the tortured soul is the dream guy. In real life, theses guys are scary losers. Edward should make it easier for these guys to get girlfriends for awhile. Lets not forget the "good guy" who she just wants to be friends with. A guy who can actually meet your parents is ALWAYS a better choice than the one for whom you must lie and sneak around.

Shahab   November 13th, 2009 1543 GMT

i like too

Kathy   November 13th, 2009 1552 GMT

I read the series. It started out ok..kept my interest, I was sure that as I moved into the other books they would improve. New Moon was my favorite, loved the wolves. However, by the time I finished reading the last book, I was so disgusted. This author is a joke and I think it's a sad thing that she's made a reputation, not to mention a fortune, on garbage.

Twilight, the movie, was so bad that if I had paid to see it I would have been demanding my money back. There was no acting..just a great many longing and passionate stares, which didn't convince me..sorry.

Robert I liked you better in Harry Potter..Kristen take some of the cash and get into some good acting classes.

Afrikka   November 13th, 2009 1640 GMT

I'm 34 and I started reading the Twillight series of books last April when they were given to me as a gift from the hubby. I loved them, went back and watched the movie again, which I was not overly impressed with initially and am now a certifiable fanatic. Will be leaving work early to see New Moon on the 20th fwith DD for her 8th B-day, and I can hardly wait.

Kassy   November 13th, 2009 1646 GMT

I dont care what anyone does because i am the altimate Twilight fan. No one can beat me, but i love their effort. XOXOXOX

C.S. Wright   November 13th, 2009 1804 GMT

I am DEFINITELY not your normal Twilight fan. I'm a 41 year old male.

As my wife loathes everything Twilight, it makes the movies an awkward experience. I see the movies on opening night, and am surrounded by nothing by adolescent females and the odd, uncomfortable, adolsecent male forced to attend by his girlfriend.

Kathi   November 13th, 2009 1821 GMT

I'm over 50; going to a Twilight party tonight; thrown by a middle-aged Twilight fan. So I had to read the books in preparation. I worked through the dribble of the first book, but hooked to the story line. I was enthralled with book 4, so worth the read of the first three books. I even read the un-finished manuscript Meyer's has posted on her website.

OMG   November 13th, 2009 1922 GMT

MAN i lovee jacob in da moviee... oh so sexyyy!!!

Twilight Mom   November 13th, 2009 1949 GMT

I'm a 38 yr old mom of two. Wanting to make sure that Twilight was appropriate for my girls, I read it first. Couldn't put it down and then read the 3 sequels in less than 2 weeks. I'm very excited for New Moon to be released!

Emily   November 13th, 2009 2003 GMT

@jon: No, not really. Which is why I will skip opening day and see the movie over the weekend at the earliest showing possible. The fewer 13 year old fan-girls around, the better. :)

Jessica   November 13th, 2009 2115 GMT

At least they weren't getting into drugs or sex some other ridiculous thing! Let the kids have their innocent fun and be super excited! I could think of at least a million less appealing things they could be doing.... I used to be them. I know! I LOVE TWILIGHT!!!!

marta   November 13th, 2009 2119 GMT

OMG!!! I'M 26 AND I ABSOLUTELY CAN'T WAIT FOR NEW MOON!!! I THINK IS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS IN THE SERIES AND THIS MOVIE LOOKS LIKE IT'S GOING TO BE WAY BETTER THAN "TWILIGHT" (WHICH I HAVE SEEN ABOUT 30 TIMES)

TEAM EDWARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

woadwarriorwoman   November 13th, 2009 2144 GMT

Can't wait to see this movie! YEAH!

Stella   November 13th, 2009 2148 GMT

This is going to be a great sequal of the Twilight!

lahabana12   November 13th, 2009 2149 GMT

Hurrays! New Moon is out!

Lisa   November 14th, 2009 149 GMT

I'm a 26 yr old married mom/math teacher who was constantly telling my students that I would never read a story about vampires. Finally after the 30,000th time of telling my kiddos to put away their books and focus on math I decided I had to see what it was all about. Now I'm proud to say I'm absolutely addicted to this story. I have the posters in my classroom and I have found a way to not only relate better with my students but also to get my reluctant readers to pick up a book. Thanks to Ms. Meyer for creating such an incredibly enthralling story!

Lucy   November 14th, 2009 928 GMT

ooh...twilight is one of my favourite movie. I am waiting for new moon to come out

K   November 15th, 2009 358 GMT

I somehow have gotten sucked into Twilight (no pun intended). I read all of the books in about a week and a half. I became addicted! They were better than I thought they were going to be. I must admit I'm extremely excited about New Moon, I'm a big movie buff, however some fans take it to the extreme! No wonder the actors are terrified when they walk the red carpet!

David   November 15th, 2009 446 GMT

I'm a huge Twilight fan, and at 43, i'm a bit older than the average fan.
There is something about Edward and his feelings for Bella that extends beyond the screen. i know, I know, they are a couple in real life, but they weren't during the filming of Twilight. Even the sex appeal that this movie exudes is very powerful. I cannot wait until New Moon opens. I'll be there for the midnight showing, just like I will be for Eclipse.
Anyone who has not yet seen Twilight, needs to rent it now. Stop reading this and get to your nearest video store. Now!
